Hot Chocolate Mix

Have you ever homemade hot chocolate mix? Well if no, now is the time! You can make a big batch of this hot chocolate mix and give as a perfect gift but also important to keep a jar in your cupboard for those cozy nights.
Vegan & Natural Dry Hot Chocolate Mix
This recipe the best ever as it is made with real chocolate and without powdered milk so is natural and vegan. Is lower in sugar content than most store-bought mixes so is more healthy. Also it contains nutmeg and cinnamon which complement the chocolate with warm wintery old fashioned hot chocolate flavours.
Why add cornstarch to hot cocoa?
A small amount should be added as this helps create a thick and creamy consistency when warmed.

For serving, mix 2 teaspoons of the mix with your desired milk and heat up. Ensure it is mixed well so all the chocolate is fully melted.
Add a shot of espresso to make a mocha or even a shot of baileys to your hot cocoa! Yum.

To chop the chocolate, I usually use a rolling pin to bash the full bar of chocolate whilst in it’s wrapper to break it chunky pieces instead of fine pieces. I think it looks cool in the jars to have visible pieces of chocolate. But you can also use a blender to blitz the chocolate into small pieces or use chocolate chips.
